individually as well as together. We partner with community centers, schools, churches, therapist, counselors, youth detention centers, clinics and mental health facilities
About
Giving Mental Health a Voice
CalmUnity Expressives Inc. began in March 2018 in Atlanta, Ga., later expanding its reach to Maryland in 2021. Our facilitators are professional poets who are trained in mindfulness, meditation and community engagement to better serve our clients. We believe that words and how we choose to express ourselves verbally play a major role in health and wellness and our mission is to give mental health a voice through poetry. We know poetry can be fun, therapeutic and a viable outlet of expression that transcends our experiences and speaks to others by breaking race, gender, cultural and social barriers.
Families and youth will experience poetry but also: meditation, yoga, learn creative writing coping prompts, practical conflict resolution strategies, how to manage emotions with poetry and how to use their voices to unify and create positive change.

Parking Lot Poetry-Coat Drive
Parking Lot Poetry is an outdoor coat drive providing care packages and food while utilizing poetry as a tool to maintain mental wellness. It  is our hope that this unique coat drive creates dialogue, awareness and aids in providing a voice as well as visible support to those experiencing homelessness.

Sexual Assault Awareness
At CalmUnity Expressives Inc., we are dedicated to providing an open, safe and healing platform for all victors of child sexual abuse through our Unleashed Silence Poetry WordShop Series. This is a program that consist of 8-two hour wordshops. This program is designed for groups of 10 or more. We invite you to learn more and lend your support.
